Directions to the Illinois Clean Coal Institute

Closest Major Airport: St. Louis, Missouri. The airport is about 100 miles or 2 hours drive away.

 

From I-57  : 

• Take Exit 54b (IL-13 West) to Carbondale. You will go through numerous traffic lights until you get to the Airport and Route 148 intersection.

• Cross Rt. 148 and about a mile beyond the airport, there is a bowling alley on the left, and a sign for the Illinois Coal Development Park.

• Turn left here on Samuel Road (careful - the road does not have a stop light). 

• Samuel Road ends at a stop sign, turn right and go about 100 yards to Research Road. 

• Turn left on Research Road. The ICCI is located on the second floor in the first (red brick) building on your right.

Using Illinois Route 13 - From Carbondale : 

• At the Carterville junction, identified by a MotoMart service station on your left, turn right onto South Division Street. 

• Continue until you get to the T-junction. 

• Turn left, (Old Route 13) and continue for about 2.5 miles to Research Road. (The turnoff to the Coal Development Park is sign posted.) 

• Turn right on Research Road. The ICCI is located on the second floor in the first (red brick) building on your right.
